Hailing from Winnipeg, MB, mountain.seed explores music in the realms of indie, alt, folk and post rock, with a penchant for melody and thoughtful lyrics.

The project began in the early months of 2020, formed by singer, songwriter, and guitarist André Péloquin-Hopfner, with Jean-Luc Loiselle on drums, Stéphane Oystryk on the guitar, and Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner on the bass.

After only a few months of rehearsing, the pandemic struck and brought things to a halt. Despite the many challenges, mountain.seed pulled through and managed to squeeze in a project launch party & first show between closures and lockdowns in Nov 2021, and played the Festival du Voyageur in Feb 2022.

Stéphane left the band in the spring of 2022 to pursue other creative endeavours in the world of film, which led to a season of self-reflection for the band. They decided to forge onward as a trio, adding keyboards and synthesizers to their sound.

Each of these musicians brings a load of experience in multiple genres on multiple instruments, making this combination something to behold. With experience in other creative fields like photography, theatre and visual art, this group of creatives is sure to forge something worth seeing.

The goal is to create cool art with cool people, with the end result being a great experience for the audience.
